Family-Placed Death Notice

Luke Andrew Abbate age 15, of Powder Springs died Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Funeral service will be 1 PM Saturday, February 18, 2006 at West Ridge Church in Dallas with Rev. Brian Bloye, Dr. Ike Reighart, Rev. Terry Nelson and Deacon Bob Kinsey officiating. He will lie in state at the church, one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park. Luke was a 10th grade student at Harrison High School where he played football and lacrosse. He was also a member of Harrison's FCA program. He was a member of the West Ridge Church. He was a great friend and loved life and a great son. Luke was an organ donor and through his sacrifice, five unidentified recipients have received new life. Survivors include parents, Steven and Maryanne Abbate; brothers, Adam Abbate, Jonathan "Jon" Abbate; sister, Rachel Abbate, all of Powder Springs; grandparents, Joan and Bob Kinsey of Deland, FL; aunt and uncle, Joanmarie and Pierre Seacord of Orlando, FL; several cousins. The family will receive friends Friday, February 17, from 1pm-8pm at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Luke Andrew Abbate Memorial Scholarship Fund, Northwest Bank c/o Rhonda Cigainero, 3891 Cobb Parkway, Acworth, GA. 30101.
