Family-Placed Death Notice

DARBY, Frank FRANK CLARK DARBY Frank Clark Darby, 71, of Gainesville, GA died November 30th Frank grew up in Atlanta, and graduated from the Georgia Military Academy, and the University of Georgia. After serving in the Naval Reserves, he joined his family at the Darby Printing Company. There he was responsible for the sale of law reviews for the entire east coast. Soon thereafter, the Darby Printing Company became the largest printer of law reviews in the U.S. under his tenure, the company was successful in decertifying three national labor unions, an extremely rare event in the unionized printing industry. This speaks to the respect, trust and affection that the Darby employees had for Frank. Frank was an avid outdoorsman. He built three airplanes and a helicopter which he loved flying with his airport friends. Frank had an infectious love of life, and was a true joy to be around. He will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives he touched, especially his beloved poker group. He is survived by Caron Harper Darby, his wife of 41 years. His children, Patrice Beers Darby, Wendy Darby Halperin, (Jason) and James McKeeman Darby. His two grandsons, Taylor and Ryan Halperin, his brother, William McKeeman Darby (Judy) and his twin sister, Judy Darby Bicknell (Jim). A celebration of Frank's life will be held Saturday December 7 at his home from 4 - 6 pm.
