Family-Placed Death Notice

BJORK, Gary Gary Lloyd Bjork, age 72, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home in Stone Mountain, GA after a prolonged illness. He was born on October 8, 1941 to James and Rhoda Bjork and grew up in New London, MN. He moved with his family to Illinois, then to Georgia where he worked as an office manager for S.J. Groves & Sons and later retired. Gary loved spending time with his family and friends more than anything. Countless hours were spent with his loved ones playing bean bags outside and sitting around the kitchen table playing Cribbage, Aggravation, and Canasta. He loved his animals and also enjoyed wood working, painting, drawing, working in the yard and telling jokes, usually dirty ones! He always had a big smile and a hug ready for everyone he met. His big personality, huge laugh and zest for life will be missed immensely by all those that love him. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, James Lloyd Bjork and Rhoda Bierman Bjork; a brother, James Frederick Bjork; and a sister, Carol Ann Bjork. He is survived by his dearest friend and companion, Don Kelley, of Stone Mountain, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Harry O'Mack, of Princeton, TX; sister-in-law, Beryl Bjork, of Kerrville, TX; sister, Barbara Noe, of Belgrade, MN; son, Rusty Bjork, of Dahlonega, GA; son and fiancé, Darin Bjork and Tammy Jeffcoat, of Dacula, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Kim Bjork, of Hoschton, GA; four grandchildren, Phillip Bjork; Darin, Jr. and Alex Bjork; Tiffany Bjork and Ryne Caldwell; Kaitlyn Bjork; four great-grandchildren, Kaylei Caldwell; Jackson Caldwell; Denver Bjork; Dani Bjork; and many other family members and friends that he loved dearly. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 9:30-11:30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1826 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn GA. A memorial service to celebrate Gary's life will immediately follow from 11:30-12:00, officiated by Rev. Dale Sillik. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org or to your local humane society or animal shelter.
