My Brother Jimmy,
We lost my beautiful wife and best friend on Wednesday. She passed in my arms and we told each other how much we loved each other.
Susan's passing was 1 day before you left us a year ago. I miss her so much and you too. I know that both of you are no longer suffering and are in a better place.
My heart has 2 huge holes right now and hopefully time will repair.
I Love you Jimmy
I Love you Susan
Your brother,
Mike

Jay Moose,
We miss and love you so much. You were the greatest brother and the best doctor. We will be seeing Rob very soon and can't wait to talk and laugh with him about you. My Susan has stopped her chemo recently and we now wait to see what happens. It's been a rough few years lately with your passing and Susan's illness but we'll keep your memories close and pray for my beautiful wife.
We love you Brother,
Mike, Susan, & Patrick

the words i often shared with Jamsie and
want to remind all those who loved him most that there is hope beyond the grave... I Corinthians 15:50-5450 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
with prayers, Daniela Goldman

from an email to Jamsie what i always called him, from Daniela dated Dec 31,2012 when i came in to visit and give him a little gift and Christmas hug....(not knowing what would happen in '13)
from a gravestone found in a Protestant Cemetary in Macau

The port is reached
the sails are furled
Life's voyage now is over
By faith's bright chart
He has reached that world
Where storms are felt no more.

He was the most strongest, kindest, compassionate, understanding friend and doctor I have ever known. He was like a 2nd Dad. We challenged each other on recent JAMA articles, fine wines &fly fishing. He said I was the "happiest sick patient" he ever knew, who always had a ready smile. He knew me better than I knew myself. We built a trust over the 18 yrs I knew him. His fav saying, "if it hurts when you do that, don't do it." I tell my son that all the time. I have/will LOVE him forever and cherise him as my Best Friend and Confident. Hip, we will miss you terribly. Knowing that your sweet spirit is no longer in this world saddens me deeply. When Ron was fighting his cancer you and Rob were there for us.
You helped me keep it together many times when the tears started flowing as we worked side by side together @ Kaiser with me as your Advice Nurse. I will cherish all the good memories from there, Lake Hartwell, The Aids Walk as well as times @ your home in Atlanta. I will never forget how when Ron was at Emory during Thanksgiving 1999 you and Rob invited me over for Thanksgiving dinner. How so very giving and thoughtful of you guys.
You were the most brilliant physician I ever had the pleasure of working with but an even greater human being. I will remember your sometimes mischievous little smile and twinkling soft brown eyes.
We had plans to ask you and Rob down to our beach home on St. George Island, Fl. Sorry we didn't get that chance.
Your heart was full of love for Rob, your soul mate but you were always able to make room for just one more needy soul. Your capacity to love was matched only by your tender compassion.
Your surprise phone call New Years Day this year was a wonderful surprise. It allowed me the chance to tell you I love you and you reciprocated. We will cherish that call forever my sweet and dear friend and when I get to where you are we will have a glorious reunion. This isn't goodbye!
