Very sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. We became aware of each other through a mutual interest in immigration policy. Bruce always expressed a deep empathy for his friends and neighbors in the Bronx community of which he was a part. We had talked via phone and email for a couple of years but never met. A lunch in Manhattan (Bruce had recommendations) was put off due to cold weather, and again in late March due to his chemo treatments.
In his last email to me, Bruce expressed that he was "not fretting" the infusions, and that he continued to "to hope we can have that lunch date as the sun rises higher in the sky."
Rest in peace, Bruce.
