Jacquelyn SMILEY Obituary

SMILEY, Jacquelyn Jacquelyn "Jackie" Moore Smiley 1926 - 2016 Loving mother and sister, Jacquelyn Smiley passed away peacefully on January 15, 2016. Jackie was born in Plymouth, Indiana and resided in many different cities throughout her life, including Hong Kong. She was a resident of the Atlanta area for more than 50 years. Jackie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Pulley (Don) and Patricia Reichling (John), her sister Elizabeth Williams, and five grandchildren: Christopher Pulley, Michelle Goode (Derrick), Kevin Reichling (Elizabeth), Lauren Reichling, and Justin Reichling. Jackie was known as "Great-Grammy" to her two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ayden. Jackie was preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen Smiley. Jackie enjoyed singing with the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Choir and Decatur Civic Chorus. Some of her most notable accomplishments include competing in the Miss Senior Georgia pageant, as well as staring in multiple community theater performances and operas. She was passionate about hosting dinner parties, tending to her hydrangea garden, spending time with her family, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Her career included time at Detroit Edison, Emory University, and Coca-Cola. At Jackie's request, no funeral service will be held and she asked that everyone spend time celebrating her life and good memories they shared.

Your Mom and I competed in the Ms Senior Georgia Pageant together. She was such a sweet lady. I'm so glad I got to entertain later with her at some of our Dazzlin' Dames assignments. She was a gracious and kind lady. I'm so glad I got to know her. My condolences to all of you.

Will always remember Jackie's infectious smile and sunny disposition. She was such an asset to the Decatur Civic Chorus, which is where I met her. I know she is already planning her own homecoming event with all the dear friends and family who have gone on before her. My heartfelt sympathy to the family. Linda Dill

Dear Family of Jackie Smiley,
Words cannot express how much Jackie meant to me and my mother, Mary Lee Sharp. I am the director of the Decatur Civic Chorus and she was such a delight to have singing and entertaining us. I loved her parties and felt grateful to be included in her circle of friends - my yard is even more beautiful because of her giving me so many plants. Jackie was one of a kind and she will never be forgotten
Love to all of you lucky enough to be in her family
Sincerely,
Mary Anne Sharp
