Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. Darrell R. (Rick) Crowder, age 55, of Marietta died Sunday, August 20, 2006. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, from the Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Burial will be in the Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Crowder was a life long resident of Cobb County. He graduated from Osborne High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #160 and owned and operated Consolidated Contracting. He had been married to his wife, Marium for 37 years. He was Baptist. Surviving are: wife, Marium Crowder of Marietta; 3 brothers, Mark Crowder of Sandy Springs, Scott Crowder of Dallas, Robert Crowder of Marietta; sister, Valera Archbold of Duluth; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd. Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144 or Heartland Hospice, 5990 Love St., Austell, GA 30106. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6 to 8 PM., Wednesday at the funeral home.
