Meyer, Eldo H, age 96 of Weslaco, Texas, formerly of Lincoln, Neb., died Saturday, May 17, 2014. Born in Martell, Neb., to Louis and Amelia (Obermeyer) Meyer.

During his early years Eldo was very active in 4-H.
A veteran of WWII, he served two and a half years in the Army Air Corp as an aerial engineer (crew chief) on C-47 airplanes in the European Theatre.
After the war, Eldo and Erma (Kohlmeier) were married at Trinity Lutheran in Lincoln, Neb. Not long, thereafter, he graduated from Nebraska U's College of Agriculture in 1948. He was a Farm Management Supervisor for Farmers National Farm Management Company, General Sales Manager for Walnut Grove Products (Atlantic). He also farmed and managed personal farming interests for many years. Erma and he relocated to Texas after retiring.
Eldo was very active at Zion Lutheran Church (Atlantic) and conservative politics.
He is survived by his wife, Erma, married 69 years; sons William (and Judy), Kihei, Hawaii; David (and Marsha), Columbia, Mo.; Tom (and Wanda), Lake Park, Ga.; grandsons Chad (and Kim), Omaha, Neb.; Nick, Lake Park, Ga.; granddaughters Emily (and Jay) Evans, Columbia, Mo.; Heather (and Mike) Miano, South Korea; great-grandsons Ethan and Ryan, Omaha.
Graveside service with full military honors will be at 9 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Eldo's life (Memorial service) at 10 a.m., Friday, June 20 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Lincoln, Neb. Fellowship with food and beverages will be available afterwards.
