10/10/1920 - 4/1/2013
Harry Arnold Roach, 92, resident of Auburn, Calif., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, April 1, 2013. He passed peacefully in his home after a short but valiant fight with cancer.
Harry was born in Joplin Mo., on October 10, 1920, the Son of Harry Arnold Roach Sr. and Bertha Leona (Biggs) Roach. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Lois Mae Roach. After retirement Harry devoted his life to the serving others and living a life which reflected the Love of Jesus Christ. Harry and Lois spent countless hours gathering and assembling food-baskets for needy families. One of the proudest moments in Harry's life was when he was ordained as the Hospital Visitation Pastor for Calvary Chapel of Auburn California. He continued to visit and minister to people in long term care facilities even after accepting his own diagnosis. For the last 20 years Harry has also worked with Placer County Chaplaincy to minister to persons who are incarcerated in Placer County.
Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife Lois Mae Roach. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Lynn Velazquez (Gabe) and Vicky Paugh (William Reichmann); siblings, Betty Seabolt and Richard Roach; four grandchildren, Stacey Black (Rodney), Paul Velasquez (Fabi), Elizabeth Hillier (Brian); and six great-grandchildren with two more due in May. Harry was loved by many nieces and nephews and friends.
Harry was often seen handing out bubble gum to all he came in contact. He would say "this is the gospel gum. As you chew for flavor may you read the Bible to know the Lord." His family and friends will continue on his legacy of love and serve others in his memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday April 6, 2013 at 12 p.m at Calvary Chapel of Auburn, 1101 Auburn Ravine Rd. Auburn. In lieu of Flowers please donate to Calvary Chapel School.
