Myra Chapman passed away quietly Friday, March 1st with family members by her side. Born Friday, November 10th 1922, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Myra spent her 90 plus years as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dedicated wife.
Myra's sweet, angelic manner was only interrupted by the taxing of age. Her life will be revered as one driven by spirituality, generosity, and a refreshing, simple common sense. She was proud of her Scandinavian heritage and was always kind and accommodating to family both immediate and extended.
Myra was preceded in death by her sister Jeannie Doll, step sister Lorraine Mott, first husband Harold R. Van Vooren, her oldest daughter Carin Van Vooren, and her long time husband, companion, and love of her life; Robert L. Chapman. She is survived by her sister Theora Carlson of South Dakota, sister Dorothy Tostengard of Minnesota, son's Charles Van Vooren (Linda), Greg Van Vooren (Jeri), Harlan Van Vooren (Janina), daughter Myrna Jansen (David), and step children Michael Chapman (Paula), Patrick Chapman (Rebecca), Mark Chapman (Koye), Linda Cox (Allen), and many grand and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9th at 11:30 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran church, 275 Nation Drive, Auburn, CA. Donations may be made to your favorite animal charity.
