Richard Kent (Dick) Baldwin
7/19/1947 - 1/21/2013
He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as a member of the air commandos, headquartered at Hulburt Field, Fla., and spent a year in Vietnam with them.
He graduated in 1975 from Central State University, Edmond, Okla., with degrees in Psychology and Sociology. He worked for the State of Oklahoma as a parole officer for five years and then he and his wife, Gail moved to Las Vegas where he worked for Nevada Department of parole and probation. He retired after 20 years of service with them, and when Gail retired in 2010 from her position as a Clark County, Nev., social worker, they moved to Auburn.
His mother, Jean Baldwin, died in 1993. He is survived by his loving wife Gail and his father, George. Remaining surviving relatives are his brother-in-law, David Powell in Denver; David's son, Lucas and daughter, Sarah; and the following cousins with families: Richard and Jo Weaver, Polson, MT, Leo and Barbara Dishaw, Brushton, N.Y., Harold and Pat Hooker, Bangor, N.Y., Henry and Naomi Hooker, Ft. Myers, Fla., Greg and Ako Eyler, Tustin, CA, Leslie Thompson-Simmonds, Pelham, Ontario, Donna Thompson, Brighton, Ontario.
He was a member of Sirs Branch 37 and American Legion Post.
A funeral service will be held at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA, on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 1pm, followed by a private Graveside. Donations can be made to the Auburn Area Animal Rescue Foundation 11940 Masters Court, Auburn, CA 95603 at www.aaarfrescue.org
