Amanda Vaughan-Salyer Obituary

Amanda (Mandy) Dalene Vaughan-Salyer
1977 - 2013

Amanda lost her courageous battle with cancer and gained her angel wings on the morning of June 20, 2013 at the age of 36. Amanda was born in Milpitas California on January 4, 1977 to Harry and Elaine Vaughan. Amanda attended Milpitas schools, graduating from Milpitas High School in 1995. Amanda continued her education at West Valley College, West Med College where she completed her EMT certification and began working for Golden State Ambulance. Amanda relocated to Auburn California, where she attended Sierra College for an AA degree. She then began working for UC Davis Medical Group in Auburn.
Amanda leaves behind her beloved husband Craig Salyer of Penryn, and step-children: Peyton and Paige Salyer. Amanda is also survived by her mother and father Harry and Elaine Vaughan; sisters: Jeanette Renee Vaughan-Moon (Craig Moon), Cheri Vaughan; nephew, Jeremiah Navarrette; grandmother, Beverly Hunsberger; and numerous family and friends.
Amanda became known to friends and family as "Wonder Woman" during her courageous and bittersweet battle against cancer.
Amanda will be greatly missed by all those she touched with her beautiful smile, which could make any gloomy day sunny. Her love for joking around, never leaving a dull moment, her will to always stay strong and positive and make the most of any situation, no matter the circumstances, her STRONG faith in God, never losing trust for Him, her love and appreciation of life, singing and dancing like no one was watching. We will always remember Amanda as a gorgeous, fun loving and caring wife, stepmother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend.
As we take this next step in our lives without our Amanda we will know that she is no longer in pain, but safe and at peace with the Lord. She is now our angel in heaven that is watching over us.
The angels looked down from heaven one night, they searched for miles afar, and deep within the distance, they could see a shining star. They knew that very instant, that the star was theirs to gain, so they took you up to heaven, forever to remain. Look down on us from heaven, keep us free from hurt and pain, you'll always be within our hearts, until we meet again.
A memorial service will be held on July 27, 2013 at 4 p.m. at St Matthew Lutheran Church, 5901 Lonetree Blvd Rocklin, CA 95765 (916-435-0330).
