Gary Harrison passed away on January 4th just after three in the afternoon. Gary had surgery in August and never completely recovered. He was born in South Gate, CA on August 16, 1942 and was raised mostly in Southern California with a couple of years out of state. He often mentioned that he attended five high schools in four years in three states as the family moved following his dad's concrete work. Gary proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964 leaving as a Lance Corporal. Gary moved his young family to the Auburn area in 1972. Gary worked in the Auburn area as a contractor right up until last October. His son, Kevin, was often by his side on job sites. In 2000 Gary married Cash Moon. Cash's daughter, Crystal, and son, Trevor, grew to love Gary, too. Gary was 'Papa' to Crystal's kids, Catherine and Waylon, and Trevor and Tammy's daughter, Tinley. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Rick, and his parents, Gerald and Irene Harrison of Meadow Vista. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Jerry Harrison of Spokane, Washington, and his sister, Nita Volker of San Ramon, California, Pam Harrison of Auburn, his brother and sisters-in-law, his nieces and nephews, many cousins, and the many friends he made in Placer County. Services have not yet been scheduled. Donations can be made in Gary's name to the Semper Fi Fund.
