12/27/21 - 02/10/14
Geraldine (Geri) Norman, age 92, born December 27, 1921, went to heaven February 10, 2014 after a brief illness. A lifelong Christian, she loved her Lord and looked forward to seeing Him one day. Geri was born in Kansas City, Mo. and later moved to San Diego Calif., where she lived most of her life. She moved to Rocklin, Calif. two and half years ago to be closer to her family.
Geri loved to express herself through art and was a talented artist. She used many types of media for her artworks including oil, watercolor, pen & ink, chalk, pencil and others. Geri also did stained glass projects. She was very proud of obtaining her commercial arts degree. Geri was a graphic artist and worked for the County of San Diego, where she retired.
Geri loved her family. She had the opportunity to see some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren before she passed away. Geri is predeceased by her parents Flora and Homer Abbott; son James Norman; brother Lawrence Abbott; sister Virginia Hampshire; and her ex-husband Sidney Norman, who she was married to for 27 years. Geri is survived by her daughter Nancy Schroeder (Gene); her grandchildren Scott Scharer of Hebron, Ind., Lori Scharer of Sacramento, Calif., Jill Gravely of San Diego, Calif., Don Schroeder of San Diego, Calif., Sheri Marshall of Chico, Calif., and Geri Pence of Willows, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and her beloved nieces Dian Saavedra of Houston, Texas, Elaine Lepine of El Cajon, Calif., and nephew David Hampshire of New Orleans, La.
Our family would like to express it's heartfelt appreciation to Bristol Hospice for their loving care of Geri in her final days.
