Gregory Bachli
7/10/1967 - 12/5/2013

Gregory Anthony Bachli, (Greg), 46, died December 5, 2013 after a five year battle with Leiomyosarcoma. Born July 10, 1967 in San Francisco, California, he was the son of Ron and Marilynne (Berus) Bachli of Hillsborough, California. He was the devoted husband of Natalie Bachli and loving father to Katlyn, Tommy, Sophia and Benjamin.
He attended the University of Southern California and completed his degree at the University of Phoenix. He was in technology management with Deloitte Consulting for 17 years. In addition to the passion and dedication he put into his career, he had numerous talents and hobbies. He always enjoyed the outdoors and his love of cycling, hiking and running gave him peace. Running was truly his number one passion. For him, running was the gauge to his strength, his barometer, his true release to feel and work through emotions. In addition to running, he had a love for expressing himself through writing, so much so that he was in the midst of writing a book and a screenplay.
Greg had such a compassionate heart. To his family and friends, he was the definition of love. His loving heart and adoration for his family was evident to everyone in his life. He cherished his role of husband and father. Greg had the ability to light up a room. You felt his presence, his booming laugh and his smile that filled his face. Once you knew him you couldn't help but love him.
The way he embraced his five year journey in battling cancer was a true inspiration to others. He often said that his experiences through this had given him the gift of gratitude. He was truly grateful for all of life's gifts and challenges and embraced both as an opportunity to learn and grow. He looked at it all as a way of shaping himself into the person God had intended him to become. Greg recently wrote, "If I truly am a teacher or a trainer, I want others to know not to waste a day of their life. No matter what age you are, life is truly too short. But, this was my time and this is what I came to do."
Greg is survived by his wife of 14 years, Natalie (Pont) Bachli, his four children Katlyn, Tommy, Sophia and Benjamin, his parents Ron and Marilynne Bachli, his in-laws Daniel and Asta Pont and countless beloved friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Green Valley Mortuary in Folsom from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Greg's memory to a trust for Sophia and Benjamin. Please email tretheway104@comcast.net for more information.
