John married the love of his life in 1978, Rosemary; they had just celebrated 35 wonderful years together on July 4th. True to his kind and supportive nature, John raised Rosemary's daughters as his own. Wendy and Cheryl were very proud and honored to call him Father. John was an immediate friend to strangers, exuding kindness and an inner light that instantly drew people closer He was easy to love. He was gentle, with a smile that would light up your day. Megan, his youngest granddaughter, found an adage that reflects the special language she and her papa had between them. It reads, "I love when you look at someone with a smile on your face, and they break into a smile back at you, not because they know you're smiling, but because you are happy, and that's enough to make them happy."
John was preceded in death by his three brothers, John an infant brother, Manuel Silva (Marge), Joseph Silva (Shirley), and niece Sandra Silva.
