Oliver Kent Scott "Kent"
3/10/1946 - 5/1/2014

Oliver Kent Scott ("Kent") died May 1, 2014 at his home in Auburn California. Kent was born March 10, 1946 in Bell, California to Harry Jr. Scott and Bette E. Birch Scott, both from Iowa.
Kent traveled widely as a child from Great Britain to San Antonio Texas, Los Angeles, Riverside and Lompoc California - according to the postings of his father, an officer in the U.S. Air Force; however, Kent spent most of his formative years in the Lompoc/Santa Maria area where he completed high school and attended community college.
Kent served in the military during the Vietnam War era. He was a licensed psychiatric technician, a vocation he pursued for two decades, from the 1970's into the 1990's. Kent spent a substantial period of this time caring for patients at Napa State Hospital.
He is survived by: his niece, Lindsay Marie Olsen of San Francisco, Calif., Karin Sue Olsen, Kent's younger sister and only sibling, predeceased him in 2010. Kent's large, extended family had strong roots in the Midwest and Montana, although survivors of his generation live throughout the United States, from Hawaii to New Jersey. He lives on in the memory of family and friends alike for his sunny disposition, quick wit and laughter, and for his strong sense of personal loyalty.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Kent's life at times and places yet to be scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stein & Sons Funeral Directors in Auburn, Calif.
