Reverend Robert D. Wheeler
1/5/1924 - 12/29/2013

The respected Reverend Robert D. Wheeler, at 89 years of age, went home on Sunday, December 29, 2013 to join his wife and three sons in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bob was born January 5, 1924 in Boise, Idaho to Harold and Mildred Wheeler. He attended Boise High School where he gained recognition as a Pole Vaulter. After returning from military service in the Navy during World War II he married the love of his life, Annalee J. Wheeler in May of 1946. Their love for each other grew from two to a family of six. He dedicated his life to the Lord in 1951 and after earning two degrees with honors, found his calling as a Pastor with Village Missions where he and his devoted wife planted many churches throughout the Western United States. Bob loved his retirement years at Big Valley Grace Community Church in Modesto where he served as Elder, teacher, group leader and visitation Pastor. He enjoyed golf, tennis and spreading the Word of God to anyone and everyone. He did this with humility and love. Bob was a devout Christian with a kind, gentle nature.
He is survived and revered by his daughter, Kathy Hansink of Modesto, Calif., as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Although his passing has left a deep wound in the hearts of his loved ones, the heavens have gained the brightest of stars. We love you.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration and Memorial Service at Big Valley Grace Community Church in Modesto at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2013. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Franklin & Downs-McHenry Chapel.
