Robert Peter "Bob" Dahl

Robert Peter "Bob" Dahl, born in Chowchilla, Calif., June 13, 1925, passed away in his sleep at age 87 in Auburn on May 26, 2013. His wife of 42 years, Doris Bird, preceded him in death in '92.
Bob attended school in San Andreas then served in the Navy from '44 to '46. He worked at McClellan AFB as an aircraft mechanic and was a member of the Auburn Elks Lodge where he served as exalted ruler in '74 and '75. Being an avid sportsman, he was a Hunter Safety Instructor for over 20 years.
He is survived by his son Don and Don's wife, Helen, of Roseville; daughter Kathy Sanders of Auburn; four grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Kyle and Sarah, and three great-grandchildren.
Bob requested to be cremated with no following services and his ashes to be placed in the family plot at Mokelumne Hill Protestant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks National Foundation, c/o Auburn Elks Lodge #1691, 195 Pine St, Auburn, CA 95603.
