Warren Wallace Wegner

Warren returned to his Heavenly home on March 13, 2014. Born in Beloit, Wis. on March 28, 1928 to Wallace Carl Wegner and Lois Anna Cora (Ellis) Wegner, he was blessed with a long and active life.
Raised in Beloit with his brother Robert Eugene and sister Barbara; Warren enjoyed church activities, Soap Box Derby's and was a member of the ROTC in High School.
He married Helen June (Lockery) of Beloit just before entering the U.S. Army. As a Sergeant, he served as a Forward Observer during the Korean War. Upon discharge, he became a Journeyman Wood Patternmaker and he and June relocated to Whittier, Calif.
In the late 1960's, Warren joined the State of California as an Administrator in the Industrial Relations Dept., overseeing various apprentice programs.
Active in the Lutheran Church, and raising their children Darcy Lynn and Bruce Carl, they enjoyed family gatherings, camping and life in sunny California.
Again relocating to Northern California they have lived in Colfax for the past 25 years. Warren continued his busy life and in retirement served as Mayor of Colfax and is a past President of the Lions Club.
Completing his Circle of Life, a Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colfax Cemetery, 180 N. Canyon Way, Colfax, Calif. For reception information, please call Chapel of the Hills in Auburn at 530.885.3773
