Carol Elizabeth McCoin, 72, of Auburn, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Auburn Faith Hospital following a short illness. She was born January 5, 1942, in Modesto, California, the daughter of the late Phillip Smith and Esther Loose Smith. Carol graduated from Armijo High School in Fairfield, California with the class of 1959. On June 28, 1963 she was united in marriage to Byron McCoin in Roseville, California. In 1976 they moved to Auburn, California. In 1980 Carol started work for the Robert Vaughan Farmer's Agency. She worked there for over 30 years, continuing part time until recent. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, travel and spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Byron. She is survived by: her three sons, Mark (Julie) McCoin of Rocklin, Calif. Kevin (Pam) McCoin of Orangevale, Calif., and Robert (Butch) McCoin of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren: Amanda McCoin, Danielle (Brandon) Smith, Carina McCoin-Brian Perry, Harrison McCoin, Evan McCoin and Emma McCoin; her sisters Sheila Stockton of Carmichael, and Patricia (Rick) Garven of El Paso, Texas; brother-in-law LaRolf (Marilyn) McCoin, & sister-in-law Phyllis (Dave) Metsker, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 1331 Lincoln Way with graveside services to follow.
