Ronald Stickley
11/2/1933 - 6/1/2014

Ron Stickley was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Des and Rosella Stickley. He went to be with his Lord June 1, 2014 after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease and accompanying Dementia.
After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. After discharge he settled in the bay area where he worked and then retired from Stanford Linear Accelerator after working there 30 years. He was active in the Menlo Park Optimist Club and the camps they helped sponsor and run for underprivileged children in the summer near the coast. He continued his volunteering after moving to Auburn Calif., with the Auburn Fair Boosters. He loved working on projects for the fairgrounds and received awards for his work. He was most happy fishing, camping, and working in his shop. He loved working on his home and yard. Ron was a member of Auburn Presbyterian Church.
Ron is survived by his two children from a previous marriage, Geri Layne (Sean), and Jim Stickley (Melissa-deceased). He has three grandchildren, Raquel Hickman (Svenn), Kyle Stickley, Brittany Stickley, and great granddaughter Makynzie Marie Hickman.
He is predeceased by his parents, brothers, Bob, Ray, Bill, and Dick and sister, Carol Hyde. He is survived by sisters, Mae Savacool, Marleen Sanford, and Norma Jean Paulick. Ron is also survived by Pat, loving wife and best friend of 35 years. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his many friends, nieces, nephews, and by Pat's family in Michigan.
We want to express how much we appreciated the home help given by 'Home Instead'. After Ron went to stay at Emeritus Emerald Hills Memory Care, he was given the most loving care and wonderful support to Pat. Hospice of the Foothills also supported Ron and Pat for the last year and a half. Thank you to all of you.
