8/25/1952 - 5/31/2009
Corbett Daniel Godbee passed away on May 31, 2009, after a courageous batttle with cancer.
He was born in Salinas, Calif., grew up mostly in the Bay area until he moved to Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970. Dan went on to excel in the construction business. He worked commercial drywall for many years and was instrumental in marketing the idea of using steel studs for homebuilding. He traveled extensively promoting the idea and also built three homes out of steel himself.
Dan was extremely involved with his children and grandchildren's lives, especially with Little League and Softball, for over a span of fifteen years. He was not only a coach but on the Little League board as well. Dan was a big fan of the 4th of July and in all his glory with the fireworks. People from the park would come to expect Dan's grand finale and gather round to ooooh and aaahh!! He was a jack of all trades, a rock and roller from way back, loved his music, his garden, and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dea; his children, Cory, Sara, and Dana (Ponch); his grandchildren, Anthony, Halle and Nate; his mom, Gladys (Sean); his dad, Corbett (Gloria); and many siblings.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 19, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Hall from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of plants, donations may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, 500 Huntsman Way, Salt City Utah 84108 in memory of Dan Godbee. The family would like to thank all those whose kindness and thoughtfulness have helped in so many ways.
