Aliki Basiliki Zamarias (Alice) Harcourt
1929 - 2013

Aliki Basiliki Zamarias (Alice) Harcourt of Auburn, Calif. passed on February 22, 2013 at age 84 after a life of love, support to others and intellectual pursuit. Aliki was born in Athens Greece in 1929, the daughter of Mara and George Zamarias.
She married Command Sergeant Major Walter Harcourt at age 19. Moving to the United States in 1951 and proudly becoming an American citizen in 1954. She was active in the United States Army Community Service Organization earning the accommodation of Army Community Service Military Wife of the Year in 1973. Moving to Auburn in 1974, Aliki worked as a travel agent. Fluent in five languages and ready to use them at a moments notice....Aliki loved to learn. Aliki supported Disabled Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations. She also considered it an honour to support the Girl Scouts of Greece through the years .
Aliki is survived by her husband of 66 years, Walter; daughters, Annabelle Toothaker of El Dorado, Calif., Sandra Harcourt of Boston, Mas.; and grandson, US Army Captain Alex Wray. She is dearly missed.
