Wallace "Wally" Reid Meinyer

Wallace "Wally" Reid Meinyer, long-time resident of Roseville, passed away Monday, December 10, surrounded by his family. He was 88 years old.
Wally was born May 14, 1919 in Bellwood, Nebraska. He graduated from Bellwood High School in 1936. He served in the Army during World War II, and in 1944 he moved to Roseville, where he married Delia Bianchi on May 1, 1949. Wally owned and operated DeLuxe Liquor and Sporting Goods in downtown Roseville from 1947 to 1999. He was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary, the American Legion, and the 20-30 Club. He was a charter member of the Roseville Elks Lodge.
He is survived by Delia, his wife of 58 years, his sons, Roland of Santa Barbara and Dennis (Erin) of Granite Bay, and two grandsons, Brent of Roseville and Sean of San Francisco. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Julia Meinyer.
Calling hours for Wally will be held Monday evening from 4-8 p.m. at Cochrane's Chapel of the Roses, 103 Lincoln Street, Roseville. Services will be held at Cochrane's Chapel of the Roses Tuesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Wally's memory be honored by a charitable donation.
