Myrtice L. Woodmancy

AUBURN - Myrtice L. Woodmancy, 78, of Stryker Homes, Auburn, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in University Hospital, Syracuse. Mrs. Woodmancy was born in Mottville on September 11, 1931, to Edwin and Laura Miller Anderson. Raised in Mottville, Myrtice attended school in both Mottville and Skaneateles. For 62 years she was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Mottville. She had previously been employed at Dunn & McCarthy, and waitressed for many years, most recently she had worked with Walmart of Auburn. While residing at Stryker Homes she was very active as a floor representative, volunteering with the RSVP program, helping out her fellow residents and community of friends by organizing bingo, bunco, 'pizza night', 'fish on Fridays', 'salad night' and 'KFC night', and helping with the food bank at Stryker Homes. Myrtice was a devoted mother to her children, and a good friend to many. She is survived by her two daughters, Jackie Ripley and her husband, Jerry, and Jodie Ecker and her husband, Allen, all of Weedsport; three grandsons, Travis Sholes, Jerry Ripley Jr., and Dakota Ripley; two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Valerie Sholes; and sister, Laura DeVoe, of Auburn. Myrtice's many friends are invited to join with her family for a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Weedsport First Baptist Church on Liberty Street.
