AUBURN | Lois Ann Masterson, of 46 Grant Ave., Auburn, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Lois was born in Auburn on February 18, 1944, to Josephine (Calarco) and Louis Masterson (original family name was Mastroianni) and attended Auburn schools. Lois spent the last six years of her life as a resident of The Home (Faatz Crofut Home for the Elderly) where she was happy and took part in many of the activities offered, especially her favorites, trivia games, bowling, and listening to music. Her primary care was given by the gentle, sincere, and loving staff in whom she placed her trust. Hospice also provided the same quality of care and attention. Lois will be remembered as a smart, fun loving little girl and a delightful, gentle woman who was content and made no demands on anyone. She is survived by cousins, Virginia Harris, Christine Cibella, Arlene Ryan, Ronald Masterson, Carolyn Mincolla, Nicholas DeAngelis, and many second and third generation cousins. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by many aunts, uncles, and cousins including a special aunt, Carmel Lanovara. A private calling hour will be held Monday at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn, prior to Lois's Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Church with the pastor, the Rev. Frank Lioi as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Due to Lois's great care and compassion given to her at The Home, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Faatz-Crofut Home for the Elderly, 46 Grant Ave., Auburn, NY 13021.
