Leatrice Voorhees "Lee" Grove

OXFORD, Miss. - Leatrice 'Lee' Voorhees Grove, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Graceland Care Center in Oxford, Miss. Born in Genoa, she had lived in the Oxford area since 1976. Mrs. Grove had been employed as a teacher in Liberty. She enjoyed teaching and working with animals. Mrs. Grove was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Auburn. Survivors include a son, Richard E. (Lois) Grove Jr., of Aurora, Colo.; and a daughter, Betsy (Philip) Cassebeer, of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Laurel Knosp, of Port Byron; and a brother, Don (Sharon) Voorhees, of East Amherst; four grandchildren, Ashleigh Grove, of Shreveport, La., Grace Cassebeer, of Richmond, Va., Millie Grove and Valerie Grove, both of Aurora, Colo. Her husband, Richard E. Grove Sr., preceded Mrs. Grove in death. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford, Miss. is in charge of local arrangements.
