Alice was baptized and confirmed at the Danish Lutheran Church in Audubon. She attended Audubon Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1936. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., for a year, and then received her Registered Nurse degree at the Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, Colo. Alice then was employed at Porter's Sanitarium in Denver.
On Sept. 11, 1941, she was united in marriage to K.V. "Whitey" Christiansen at the Danish Lutheran Church in Audubon. Three children Jeanette, Ken and Keith were born to this union. Alice was employed as a nurse in the Denver area. During World War II while Whitey was in the service, Alice returned to the Audubon area and lived with her parents. She then returned to Denver when Whitey was discharged. In 1948 they moved to Audubon and Alice was a nurse at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital. Later Alice took care of people in their homes and was a nurse at the medical clinic first at Dr. Jensen's and then with Dr. Merselis and Dr. Bartley.
In 1962, they moved to Estherville where Alice was a nurse at Dr. Powers and Dr. Walters clinic. They returned to Audubon in 1966. Alice became the Director of Nursing at the Friendship Home in Audubon until she retired. Whitey died Feb. 7, 1988. Alice enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She lived in her home until she moved to the Friendship Home in October of 2010.

She enjoyed attending the Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp with her family for many years. She was a hospice volunteer for many years. She enjoyed her Bible Study and quilting.
