Funeral services for Beverly A. Mendenhall, 65, of Atlantic, were held at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic on Tuesday, July 10, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating.  The Committal Service was in the Atlantic Cemetery. Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic is caring for Bev's family and her arrangements.  
Beverly Ann Molgaard was born on Sept. 17, 1946 to Alfred Hansen and Bernice Pauline Gibson Molgaard in Riverside, Calif., a suburb of Los Angeles, and passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, at the age of 65.
She attended school in Exira, graduating with the class of 1964.  She later received a LPN degree from Iowa Western Community College, an ADN degree from DMACC, and her BSN from Drake University. Bev worked for the Cass County Health System as the Director of Quality Assurance, Infection Control and Employee Health for 35 years. She was planning to retire on Sept. 1, 2012.
On Dec. 26, 1973, Bev was united in marriage to Roger George Mendenhall in Brayton.  During her life, she lived in California, Audubon County, Ankeny, Papillion, Neb., and in Atlantic since 1978.  She had been a chairman for Relay For Life, a member of BPW and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic.  She was interested in all kinds of crafts - needlepoint, scrapbooking and jewelry and was an avid reader.  Amongst Bev's favorite things, were butterflies and lady bugs.
In 2008, she became the Iowa Infection Control Practitioner of the year and had received many other awards.  The vacations she enjoyed the most were Caribbean cruise in 2002, a trip to the Wisconsin Dells and Mt. Rushmore in 2007 and a trip to New Orleans in 1989. The family looked forward to her beef stew on Christmas Eve every year.  She will be remembered as being dedicated, generous, loving, loyal, kind and cheerful to those who knew her.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Bernice Molgaard, father-in-law, Jimmy Mendenhall, brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Connie Mendenhall and a niece, Jennifer Moser.
Survivors include her husband, Roger of Atlantic; son, Rick (Tisha) of Atlantic; daughter, Paula Christian of Baxter; grandson, Daniel and granddaughter, Kayla; brother, Ron (Laurie) Molgaard of Elizabethtown, Ky.; sisters Trisha Ebert of Grinnell, Nadine (Mark) Dobbe of Ames, and Juanita Holaday and companion Mike Erickson of Elk Horn; mother-in-law, Alice Mendenhall of Atlantic; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Otis) Carr of Papillion, Neb., and Dorothy (Jim) Kelger of Atlantic; brother-in-law, Bob (Carol) Mendenhall of Sigourney; eighteen nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be assigned to the BPW Scholarship Fund.
