Donald "Don" C. Miller, 81, of Fort Dodge passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral services were be held on Thursday, March 1st at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Deman officiating. Burial was in the in Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, IA, with Full Military Graveside Rites.
Survivors include his sons, Douglas W. Miller of Dallas, TX; Michael Miller of Des Moines; Thomas S. Miller of Garretson, SD; Jason D. Miller and his wife Susie of Fort Dodge; foster daughter, Sandra Dubendorf of Portland, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford W. and Madge O. (Matthews) Miller; and his wife, Norma.
Donald Clifford Miller was born on April 28, 1930 in Des Moines. He attended schools there and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. Following his education Don served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War from November of 1948 until his honorable discharge in November of 1955. He returned to Des Moines and was employed with Hanson Directory Service Inc. in Newton. Don was the Sales Marketing Coordinator until his retirement in 1993. On May 8, 1962 he was united in marriage to Norma L. Petersen and the couple made their home in Des Moines. In 1979 the couple moved to Fort Dodge. Don was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1856 and past member of the Masonic Lodge. He was long time friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to Hospice of Fort Dodge.
