Funeral services for Dorothy J. Loudenslager of Holbrook, Neb, were held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, Neb., with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating. Interment was at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Neb. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, was in charge of the arrangements.
Dorothy Jean Loudenslager was born Feb. 28, 1945 to Rasmus and Alma Marie C. (Peters) Nielsen, and died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb.
She grew up in Irwin and attended country school and Irwin High School graduating with the class of 1963. She married Fred Loudenslager Sr. on Aug. 29, 1964 in Harlan. They lived in Central Iowa and Nebraska. She graduated from beautician school, then owned and operated G-Nees Hair Salon in Hartford. She retired in 1991 and later they moved to Holbrook, Neb. She was a member of the Eastern Star at Carlisle, Iowa.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Elmer, Virgil and Donald Nielsen and a sister, Alice Winther.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Loudenslager Sr. of Holbrook; her son, Fred Jr., and wife Mellissa Loudenslager of Indianola; daughters; Wendy Squier of Fresno, Calif., Brenda L. and husband Bryon Keeney of Indianola, and Shanda and husband Jeff Carlson of Arapahoe; 11 grandchildren: Danielle and Dary Jane Squier, Ty, Jayce and Gavin Keeney, Morgan and husband Joseph Keeney-Robbins, Ashlee and Paige Loudenslager, and Chloe, Colton and Cydney Carlson; two great-grandchildren: Joseph Douglas Robbins and Marcus Mahr; her brother Marvin and wife, Laurel of Audubon; her sisters: Irene Hansen of Audubon, Donna and husband Glenn Byriel of Boone, Mary and husband John Steenhusen of Irwin and Janelle Roberts of Exira.
