Mass of Chritian Burial for Dorothy S. Malget, 91 of Oelwein were held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein, with Rev. Paul C. McManus & Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Dorothy Sophia Testroet was born on April 4, 1925 in Gray, the daughter of Theodore and Florence (Schlichte) Testroet and died on Friday morning, March 3, 2017 at the Oelwein Healthcare Center in Oelwein.
She graduated from Gray Consolidated High School in the Class of 1945. Dorothy moved to Audubon where she lived for 12 years. Dorothy was united in marriage to Adrian Joseph Malget on May 24, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Audubon. They lived at Waukon and later moved to Oelwein in 1964. Dorothy worked for Interior Decorating and later at Fareway in Oelwein for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She had been a resident at Arlington Place in Oelwein and later at the Oelwein Health Care Center since Dec. 28, 2010.
Dorothy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was formerly a member of the Sacred Heart Senior Citizens, Sacred Heart Quilters and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Rita #321.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Theodore and Florence Testroet, her husband Adrian on April 26, 2011 and three brothers: John Testroet, Pete Testroet & Edwin Testroet.
Dorothy is survived by her son Ted (Judy) Malget of Oelwein; her daughter: Mary (Richard) Goedken of Dundee; six Grandchildren: Jennifer (Dave) Neira, Mike Malget, Kristin Malget, Katie Goedken, Kayla Goedken, & Chris (Brandy) Goedken and five great-grandchildren: Mason Malget, Aaron Malget, Conner Neira, Sam Neira and Sawyer Goedken.
Memorials may be given in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
