A Memorial service for Edna C. May, 92 will be held Sept. 24, 2011,  2 p.m. at Kessler Funeral Home, 234 W. South Street, Exira with a reception following.
Edna C May, longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away at Good Samaritan Nursing Home on Sept. 2, 2011.
Edna was born on Feb. 28, 1919 in Griswold, a daughter of the late Benjamin F. and  Maude Kreamer. Edna graduated from Exira High School. She married Chester V. May on June 1, 1937 in Harlan. They farmed east of Hamlin, in Melville Township for many years prior to moving to Colorado Springs, in 1972. Edna enjoyed hiking and the outdoors. She was a Methodist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester May, two sisters; Kathleen Kreamer and Elva Wolf; one brother, Frank Kreamer. 
Edna is survived by her son; Philip  and wife Betty May of Elbert, Colo.; two grandchildren; Kelly Valdez (Tim) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Shawn May of Elbert, Colo.; three great-grandchildren; Kalie and Gabriel Valdez of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Logan May of Elbert, Colo.: her sisters, Mona Norris of Needham, Mass. and Enid Jensen of Hebron, Neb. and many nephews and nieces.
A Memorial has been set in Edna's name at Good Samaritan Society - PO Box 38, Simla, Colo. 80835-0038.
