Memorial services for Emmert S. Hansen, 69, were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, in Blue Springs, Mo. Arrangements entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel, Blue Springs, MO.

Born June 13, 1944 to Stanley and Amanda Hansen. Emmert graduated from Exira High School and then completed his studies at College of Automation in Des Moines. Emmert earned the American Legion award as a high school Senior and was actively involved in the local chapter of Future Farmers of America.
He was involved in Kiwanis while living in Slater, and later in the faith supporting organization, Heart of America Cursillo. Emmert also enjoyed his time as a Boy Scout leader and was an honorary warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. The last eighteen years were spent at Electronic Contracting Incorporated where he was an experienced and valued member of their team. Throughout his adult life, Emmert was a loyal and loving husband and a dedicated and supportive father. Always enjoying children, he was patient and generous with his grandchildren.
Emmert is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Amanda Hansen and his daughter, Ruth Ann Hansen.
Emmert is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Carol Jo Ann (Ruhs), his children Darci McCracken of Wildwood, Mo., Colonel Richard Hansen, of Mandeville, La. and Andrew Hansen, of Columbia, Mo. His grandchildren are Dallas McCracken, John Hansen, Lucille Warren, Matthew Hansen, Kerry Dean Warren, Margaret Hansen and Lydia Hansen.
