Funeral services for Gary Henley, 69, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Assembly of God Church, Mercer, Mo., with Pastor Ralph Peery officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Early Cemetery, Mercer, Mo. The Roberson Funeral Home, Princeton, Mo., was in charge of the arrangements.
Gary Henley was born Feb. 21, 1947 in Mercer, Mo., the son of Paul and Jeane (Elsey) Henley, and died Jan. 1, 2017 at his home in rural Mercer.
On Dec. 8, 2013 he married Marsha Smith Henley in Mercer. She survives of the home.
Gary worked for the Railroad serving in various roles as a mechanic and in management. He loved working for the Railroad and fishing. He faithfully attended the Assembly of God Church in Mercer, Mo.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Paul Henley, and his second wife, Mabel Budd Henley.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Marsha, include, his mother, Jeane Henley, Princeton, Mo.; 2 daughters, Cindy (John) Freeman, Garland, Texas and Cheri (Andrew) Koke, Wichita, Kan.; two step-sons, Dan (Janet) Budd, Audubon and Tom (Trish) Smith, Troutfield, Va.; step-daughter, Marlenda (Wade) Clark, Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren, Carson, Katie, and Cody, and six step-grandchildren; four brothers, Dean (Evelyn) Henley, Mercer, Mo., Andy (Betty) Henley, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Jeff (Teresa) Henley, and Tracy (Sherry) Henley, all of Mercer, Mo; and several nieces and nephews.
