A celebration of her life service for Imogene C. "Jean" Logan, 96, was held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Grinnell with the Rev. Kirsten Klepfer officiating.  Interment was in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Imogene Catherine Logan was born the daughter of Glen and Elizabeth Schrum McLaughlin on Sept. 12, 1914 in Carroll and died Friday, May 20, 2011 at Friendship Manor Care Center in Grinnell.
She was raised on the family farm near Carroll and graduated from Audubon High School with the class of 1932.   She then attended AIB College in Des Moines where she played basketball.   
 She was united in marriage to Donald E. Logan on Feb. 23, 1935 in Des Moines.  The couple resided in Des Moines and she worked for Meredith Publishing Company.  They later moved to Florida in 1972.  In 2005, she moved to Grinnell to be closer to her family.   
Imogene was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Grinnell.  Her hobbies were playing bridge, golfing and cooking.   
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald E. Logan in 1979; a son, William Logan in 2007; a granddaughter, Diane Fowler in 2005; and her siblings, Frank McLaughlin and Phyllis Ehlert.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Janice Logan of Grinnell; two grandchildren, Judy Snyder of West Des Moines, and Sheryl Jewett of Cary, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Tom Fowler, Natalie Fowler, Joel Snyder, Owen Snyder and Carson Jewett; a brother, Russell McLaughlin; and several nieces and nephews.
