Funeral services for Jamie Gerard Tigges, 50, of Adel, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25 at St. John's Catholic Church in Adel.  Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dedham. The McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, was in charge of the arrangements.
Jamie was born in Carroll, on Feb. 9, 1965, the youngest of six children and graduated from Audubon High School in 1983.  After graduation, he attended and graduated from Spencer School of Business where he met his wife, Jean Olson, of Pocahontas.  After graduation, he moved to the Des Moines area and married Jean on April 9, 1988.  They lived in Des Moines until the fall of 1998 and then moved to Adel, where they have lived for the past 17 years.  Jamie lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, with his family by his side, on Sept. 21, 2015 at the age of 50.
Jamie had several jobs in the insurance industry in the Des Moines metro area, his most recent at NCMIC Group in Clive for nearly 14 years.  He enjoyed his job and his co-workers and we are very grateful for all of their support of his illness and cancer battle over the last two years.
Jamie was a very social person and a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Pittsburg Steelers and Dodgers Baseball.  This past summer, he went to his first major league baseball game in Minneapolis, Minn.  Go Twins!!
His favorite pastimes were spending time with his wife and daughters, family gatherings and sporting events!  He was very into music from the 1970's and 1980's and saw several concerts, Journey (at least three times), The Eagles, Reo Speedwagon and Styx.
He leaves behind his wife, Jean, daughters, Alyssa, a student at UNI in Cedar Falls and Hannah, a sophomore at ADM High School in Adel.   He will be missed by his siblings, Dale, Ron, Carolyn, Jeanne and Julie and his parents Joe and Freda Tigges, nieces, nephews as well as many friends, neighbors, co-workers, other relatives, and his furry friends, Lucky and Buddy.
Until we meet again, Jamie, we love you!!
