BRIDGEPORT, NEB. – Robert Lee Clausen Sr., 74 died Thursday June 3, 2010 at Morrill County Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 11, 2010 at 2 ß p.m. at the Bridgeport Church of Christ with Pastor Jonathan Seng officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be on Thursday June 10th from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later time. Jolliffe Funeral Home of Bridgeport is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert was born May 18, 1936 in Carroll County Iowa to Marius and Vivian (Jensen) Clausen. He attended school in Audubon and Exira Iowa. Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 until 1962. He and Janet Green were married February 16, 1958 and to this union three children were born, Sherrill Linn; Debra Jean and Robert Lee Jr. Robert farmed and worked construction. Robert and Sharon Kirkwood were united in marriage July 16, 1982 giving him three step children, Teri Watson (Teresa Warren); Robert Warren and Grace Griffiths.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Fort Collins, Colo.; the Eagles of Bridgeport and the Danish Lutheran Church in Iowa.
He is survived by his wife Sharon of Bridgeport; children Sherrill Clausen of Atlantic, Iowa; Debra (James) Britt of Brunswick, Georgia and Robert (Sonya) Clausen Jr. of Atlantic, Iowa. Step-children Teri Watson (Teresa Warren) of Pueblo, Colo.; Grace (Jack) Griffiths of Bridgeport and Robert (Wendy) Warren of Fort Collins, Colo. Grandchildren Crystal (Chris) Schroder; Joseph Clausen; Tiffany Milarch all of Atlantic, Iowa; Richard Morrow of Brunswick, Georgia and Miranda Morrow of Omaha. Step-Grandchildren Anthony "Tony" Warren of Colorado; Ashley Kisner of Wauneta; Savannah Skov of Grand Junction, Colo.; Stormy Durham; Katie Warren both of Nebraska and Camden Warfield of Scottsbluff. Great Grandchildren Grace Clay and Clair Schroder. Step-Great Grandchildren Kymberlee Schroder; Daniel Schroder and Damon Kisner of Wauneta. Brothers and sisters Barb Haskins of Omaha; Betty (Milo) Cress of Eagle; Henry (Cassie) Clausen of Gretna; Janet (Al) Arendt of Valley Springs, S.D. and Earl (Margaret) Clausen of Adair, Iowa, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Joann Clausen at infancy, son-in-law Brian Kisner, father and mother in law Robert and Eva Kirkwood.
