Robert William "Bob" Roberts, 93, of Las Vegas, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 10, 2017.
Bob was born on Aug. 4, 1924 in Audubon, the son of Jess and Lillian Roberts. After moving several times, he ended up settling in Las Vegas in 1965.
A veteran of World War II, Bob served as PFC in the U.S. Army from July 2, 1943 to December 23, 1945. A Gun Crewman Heavy Artillery, Bob landed on Omaha beach during the Battle of Normandy – 514 Field Artillery Battalion Battery B. After moving to Las Vegas, Bob worked at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, then UNLV as the Print Shop Manager for 22 years. Bob enjoyed being part of the Gideon organization and was an avid Rebel football and basketball fan.
He loved making homemade ice cream with his grandchildren, golf, playing cards with friends and sharing his knowledge with the younger generations.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Norma Jensen Roberts; his two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Miller and Donna (Vance) Abercrombie; four grandchildren, Alan (Mayette), Kristi, Michelle (Charles) and Kelly (Courtney); and seven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Drew, Justin, Ashli, Olivia, Brayden and Maren; and his sister, Marge Knudsen of Audubon and several cousins.
Services will be a 1 p.m. on Jan, 10, 2018 at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones, Blvd. Burial will be at a later date in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Bob's name to the .
