Funeral services for Ronald B. Christiansen, 71, formerly of Audubon, were held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. Pastor Josh Beckner and Pastor Harvey Hanson officiating. Honorary groups included Ron's antique tractor group and Ron's card playing group. The Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton was in charge of the arrangements.
Ronald Bruce Christiansen was born Feb. 20, 1943, at Castana and died Jan. 3, 2015 in Omaha at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 13 days. He grew up in the area and attended Castana High School.  In his youth, he worked for local farmers and developed his love of working on tractors. He later worked at Bickley Motors at Ida Grove. In 1970, he started Christiansen Motors, Inc. in Audubon, a Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, and Oldsmobile dealership.  
Ron married Connie McNutt Aug. 18, 1984, at the German City Church. They moved to Castana just prior to Ron's retirement in 2002. They recently moved to Papillion, Neb. 
During his career in Audubon, Ron volunteered for various business and civic groups. He loved playing cards and piloting his own airplane. During retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed joining his friends in his tractor group and driving in many tractor rides. He was involved in one such ride at Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hank, Bob and Charles in infancy; three sisters, Doris Berning, Marilyn Wallace, and Charlotte Kendall.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; one daughter, Ronda Arnold and her husband, Mike, of Paynesville, Minn., and their children, Nathan, Heather, and Jake Arnold; three sons, Brian Christiansen and his wife, Jess, of Omaha, Neb., and their children, Lexi, Maddy, Livy, Erin, and Chelsea Christiansen, Jeff Hasbrouck and his wife, Jo, of Audubon, and their son, Jake Christensen, and Jason Hasbrouck of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Edna Jensen of Castana, June Samuelson and her husband, "Sam" of Milan, Ill., and Carmen Lamb and her husband, "Red" of Onawa; Ron's dog and close companion, Maggie; several nieces and nephews; and friends everywhere.
