Funeral services for Wayne W. Tibben, 91, were held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. Rev. Jonathan Conner officiated. Honorary casket bearers were Jana Korhonen, Dr. Linette Ewing, Joni Roslansky and Lynn Christensen. Casket bearers were Dan Tibben, Dave Tibben, Dennis Tibben, Jason Roslansky, Pastor Merlene Ostebee and Bruce Dentlinger. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. Johnson and Woodhouse Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Wayne Warren, son of George and Laura (Reimers) Tibben, was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Audubon County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church east of Exira. Wayne attended county school near Exira through the eighth grade and then worked for area farmers.
   In Dec. of 1942, Wayne entered the United States Army and served in Europe with General Patton and later in the Philippines, receiving his honorable discharge in March of 1946.
   On June 30, 1946, Wayne was united in marriage with Juletta Nissen at the Hamlin Lutheran Church. Two sons, Gale and Clark, were born to this union. They farmed in Audubon County, buying the place south of Manning in 1962. Wayne actively farmed until Christmas of 2011.
   Wayne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. When he wasn't farming, he enjoyed a good game of pinochle and cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
   After a brief illness, Wayne entered the Manning Plaza Nursing Home in Manning on Feb. 29, 2012, and died there on Thursday, March 15, 2012. He was ninety-one years of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Juletta in 1980 and a sister Marjorie Christensen and her husband Everette.
 Wayne is survived by: two sons Gale Tibben and wife Doris of Spirit Lake and Clark Tibben and wife Vickie of Audubon; six grandchildren: Jana Korhonen and husband Sean of Atlanta, Ga.; Dr. Linette and Chris Ewing of Milton, Fla.; Joni Roslansky and husband Jason of Selby, S.D.; Dan Tibben of Manning; Dave Tibben and fiancé Danielle Goetzinger of Manning; and Dennis Tibben of Des Moines; six great-grandchildren: Charlie and Lauryn Tibben; Peyton and Nolan Roslansky; Declan Korhonen and Katherine Ewing; a brother Eldon Tibben and wife Delilah of Fairfield, Neb.; and by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
