Private family Celebration of Life Services for Wesley DeBoth, 89, will be held in May 2015. Wesley died on Dec. 26, 2014 at Creighton Hospital in Omaha, Neb., as a result of injuries received in a car accident on Dec. 19, 2014
Wesley was born in Taylorville, Ill., on Aug. 29, 1925, to Louis and Ann DeBoth. He grew up in southeast Iowa and graduated from High School in Oskaloosa. He moved to Audubon in 1948. On July 22, 1953, he was united in marriage to Persis Zentmire in Boulder, Colo.
He started his business in 1948 which he operated until 2006.
Wesley had a love of building, and a love of Volkswagons and attending auctions.
They owned and operated wholesale floral supplies, floral shop, greenhouses, sodding, wreaths and roping in Manning, Guthrie Center and Audubon.
They moved to their acreage in 1980 where he built his greenhouses.
Wesley and Persis cared for her mother, Carolyne Zentmire and Wesley's parents' Louis and Ann DeBoth, in their home, until their passing. They enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, bowling, gardening, and they mentored young people.
He was a long-time member of the Audubon Chamber of Commerce.
Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant sister; Persis' parents; five nephews, 1 niece and two brothers-in-law.
Survivors include his wife, Persis DeBoth of Audubon, his sisters, Wilma (Billie) and husband, Gerhardt Voge of Manning and Freda Drees of Ormond Beach. His sister-in-law, Shirley Zentmire of Kansas City. His nieces, and nephews, Dan Drees, Linda and husband, Roy Bertolet, of Florida, Mike and wife, Toni Drees of Virginia and Kitty Drees, of Florida, Jim and wife Linda Switzer of Audubon, Ann and husband Mark Truillinger of Manning, William and Jami Voge of Solana, Calif., Diane and Murray Matthew of Spring Hill, Kan., Janet and David Rigsby of Liberty, Mo.; and his surrogate family, Bob and Pat Jensen of Omaha, Arkansas.
