Barbara Coleman

APPLING, Ga. - Barbara E. Tudor Coleman passed away at University Hospital on April 22, 2014, at the age of 74. She was born in Gloverville, South Carolina on January 4th, 1940. She grew up in Frog Hollow and attended Tubman Jr. High. Barbara is survived by Patrick J. Coleman, her loving husband of 59 years. They were married in Jackson, S.C. on March 25, 1955. She worked at Harlem High School for 10 years. Barbara was a lifetime member of the Harlem VFW Post 6445 where she had many friends. Her main focus in life was her large and extended family. She valued family and the character she instilled in her children. She had a deep and abiding faith in God with whom she has now gone home to. Barbara is predeceased by her mother Dorothy Tudor, father Curtis O. Tudor and brother Curtis O. Tudor Jr. Barbara is lovingly remembered by her children, Patrick J. Coleman Jr., Michael C. Coleman and wife Linda, Robert E. Coleman and wife Velda, Barbara C. Ellis and husband Randy, Kenneth W. Coleman and wife Jennifer, and Joy Lynn Lowe and husband Jason, all of Columbia County; her 17 grandchildren, Carrie, Shannon, Mike, Matt, Mandy, Stephanie, Robby, Joey, Jamie, Jeffrey, Morgan, Alex, Kenny, Meghan, Davey, Alyssa, Brian and 6 great grandchildren, Shane, Alicia, Ashlynn, Riley, Drew, and Bella. She is also survived by her sister Helen Hillock, husband Virgil Hillock and brother Robert Tudor; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2014, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Mr. Virgil Hillock officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside. If so desired, memorials may be made in to the Wounded Warrior Project. Visitation will be held today from 4:00PM - 6:00 PM at Starling Funeral Home, Harlem, GA.
