EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Marie Peterson Irby, beloved wife of Richard Irby, entered into rest on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Evans First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chip Reeves officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. Burial will be private. Marie retired as a cosmetologist from Dillard's, where her customers grew to trust and confide in her. She loved bowling and was a member of the Senior Practice League at Brunswick Lanes. She was active in her church, and loved to travel. She had an outgoing, bubbly personality who never met a stranger. Her loving compassion will be missed by everyone who knew her. In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by a son, Dalthard R. Taylor, her four daughters, Deborah Russo, Dianna Brentnell (Louis), Dedra Carrasco, and Kellie Irby-Hapeman (Rick), and her four sisters, Jennie Spoon, Carol Pryor, Margaret Cogliano, and Jenet Cardillo. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas, D-Grant, Mark, Carolyn, Blair, James, Justin, Joseph, Justas and Zachary, and her great grandchildren, Ethan, Dalthard Grant, Valerie Lynn, Luke, Noah, Harper, Ayden and Kinnadie. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, William C. Peterson and Mary Morganti, and brother, Johnny. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Augusta Elks Lodge #205, Wounded Warriors Account in memory of Marie Irby, at 205 Elkdom Court, Augusta, GA., 30907.
