I'm sitting in the APMA House of Delegates just reading about the loss of Tom Smith. Tom was such a good and decent man and an inspired and leader and teacher in our profession. He helped out so many times in Region 10 APMA activities and meetings. He will be truly missed.

Farewell my very good friend, Tom. What fun and challenging times we had at Doctors Hospital when I served as your senior resident (you don't have to genuflect for me any more). To see you balance your life and your relationships so well has been a lifelong inspiration to me. You kept your spiritual and family life in focus and leave a great teaching legacy behind you. You deserve the peace you have secured. Condolences from Betty and I to your family for their time of earthly loss...may they know that you are riding on eagle's wings into eternity.

This is so sad. Dr. Smith was a universal friend to everyone. One of the best men I have ever known. In a lifetime you won't meet a better person than Dr. Thomas Smith

The thing that is most memorable to me about Tom was that he NEVER said a bad word about anyone. He only spoke the good and kept the bad to himself. This is an amazing attribute. Tom was one year ahead of me in residency and he was a great role model. He was the best father, husband and colleague. Tom, you will be missed by all that ever had the pleasure of knowing you.
I have now lost a fellow resident ahead of me and behind me and here I remain. Peace be with you and may Lynn and children get through this most difficult time.

Thank you for our 13 years working together. Being willing to teach and patience for me to learn.
To his family, he was very proud of all his children. So happy when he would speak of you, and loved his time with you.
His patients loved him. And even my uncle is one of them.
Prayers for all.

What a beautiful family whom I love dearly and Dr. Tom will be missed so much. He was a joy to be with as was Lynn and both were an asset to our neighborhood. Always helpful, always willing and wonderful children that anyone would be happy to have. They are successful and smart, which speaks highly of their parents. Tom was always taking one of them with him on trips; when he would be speaking somewhere and to me that just says "What a great Father". Tom we loved you dearly and now you are with your Father, your heavenly home. Our neighborhood will not be the same, but we will do our best to help your beautiful family until we all meet again. Prayers to the family. Much love.
