MARTINEZ, Ga. - Dr. J. Bruce Arensman, 73, beloved husband of Geri Arensman, entered into rest on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Doctors Hospital.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 1014 at 1:00 PM at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. John Johnson officiating. Dr. Arensman, a resident of Martinez since 1978, was born in Metropolis, Illinois in 1940. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine, and he later earned a MBA from Augusta College. He retired from the U.S. Army Veterinary Corp with 20 years of service attaining the rank of Major. Dr. Arensman worked throughout the CSRA Veterinary Community since his retirement from the Army in 1984. He worked for many years at the Augusta Animal Emergency Clinic and was currently working at VCA Columbia Animal Hospital. In addition to his wife, Geri, he is survived by his sons, Perry (Melissa) and Doug, a daughter, Catherine, a brother, Phil Arensman, sisters Jan Landrum and Nora Breznik (Carl) and three grandchildren, Analora, Christopher and Sarah Arensman.
