AUGUSTA, Ga. - Deacon Emeritus Quincy McKie, husband of the late Nellie Ryans McKie, entered into rest on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Trinity Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Elim Baptist Church with Rev C. Dewayne Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Deacon McKie, a native of Edgefield, SC, was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served on the Deacon Board at Elim Baptist Church for forty five years. He was retired from Gracewood State School and Hospital and from Sears and Roebuck. Preceding him in death were his beloved wife of sixty two years and his loving son, Curtis McKie, Sr. Survivors are a daughter, Velma M. (William) Wilson, Hinesville, GA; son, Gregory A. (Traci H.) McKie, Augusta; brother, James McKie, Columbia, SC; daughter-in-law, Mildred McKie, Augusta; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins to mourn his passing.
