GLEN HEAD, N.Y. - Abraham "Abe" Zvi Feiler, 74, of Glen Head, New York, entered into rest peacefully on Wednesday March 23rd, 2016. Abe was gentle, kind, witty and known for his sense of humor and positive outlook on life and through the years was aided by the support of his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Rose Feiler, and his sister, Irene Feiler. Abe is survived by his loving wife, Anita Feiler of Glen Head, NY; sister, Bella "Judy" Feiler of Margate, FL; son, Preston Feiler (Jana) of Savannah; daughter, Risa Feiler Gay (Chris) of Augusta; stepdaughter, Lori Rooney (Robbie) of Glen Head, NY; loving sister-in-law, Meryl Hammer Alalof (David) of Augusta and nephews, Seth Hammer Alalof (Fatima) of Kennesaw and Scott Zachary Alalof of Oldsmar, FL. Also, he was so proud of his grandchildren, Brice and Addison Feiler of Savannah, Rachel, Hannah and J.T. Gay of Augusta, and Ellie, Evie and Dillon Rooney of Glen Head, NY, who will all miss their Papa Abe/Grandpa dearly. Abe is a native of the Dominican Republic and grew up in Plantation, FL. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a retired firefighter and policeman before transitioning into a successful career in retail sales. He was also an avid fisherman, loved his Miami Dolphins and sports in general. Funeral services will be graveside on Sunday, March 27th, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, located at 2700 Deans Bridge Rd., in Augusta, GA, and officiated by Rabbi Shai Beloosesky. Pallbearers are David Alalof, Seth Alalof, Scott Alalof, Charles Gay, Chris Gay, Bert Rosenthal, Dr. Jeffery Broder, and Elliott Price. The family will receive friends during the traditional time of mourning while sitting shiva on Sunday, March 27th and Monday, March 28th at the home of David and Meryl Alalof, 3570 Pebble Beach Dr., Martinez, GA, and then on Tuesday, March 29th and Wednesday, March 30th at the home of Preston and Jana Feiler, 347 Kensington Dr., Savannah GA.
