THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Anita Gantt, 89, widow of Mr. Thomas D. Gantt Sr., died Monday, April 6, 2015, in Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 9 in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Driggers officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. Mrs. Gantt was a native of Key West, Florida, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was retired from Carole Fabrics, then became a homemaker and master baker. She was a member of Thomson Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Gantt, Appling, Lynette (Hill) McClellan, Hephzibah, Brenda (Tony) Turbeville, Dunn, N.C.; two sons, Thomas D. (Laura) Gantt Jr., Thomson and Douglas (Christine) Gantt, Hephzibah; two sisters, Rosalie (Jack) Smith, Melbourne, FL, Yvonne (Dennis) Jordan, Lakeland, FL; one brother, William "Billy" (Marie) Camalier, Atlanta; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thomson Presbyterian Church.
